Best Top High Back Front Seat Covers Review

One of the things as a Jeep owner you want to do is, be able to use your Jeep the way you always imagined. The way the Jeep Wrangler is offered now days, though a good thing, with its creature comforts such as cloth or leather seats, carpeted floors, navigation systems, and so on, can interfere and be difficult to use your Jeep as a Jeep. We pay a lot of money for these wonderful vehicles, spend countless hours at a job you possible don't like and would prefer to be riding around in your Jeep somewhere, and therefore, you want to keep your Jeep looking as good as you possibly can. One area of this topic I will discuss is, your Jeeps seats, and how you can protect them from rain showers, dust, dirt, mud, and everyday wear and tear.

One way you can protect your Jeeps seats is a good water proof seat cover. Now before I begin with the review, yes, there are all kinds of seat covers that are offered for the Jeep Wrangler, and any vehicle at that rate, from cheap twenty dollar covers to two or three hundred dollar covers. But if you are like myself, your doing your best to get by, just making enough money to make a Jeep payment to the bank each month, there is a good all around option for folks.

When I went shopping for seat covers for my Jeep, I knew I didn't want the twenty dollar ones I could get from local chain stores, because they where not going to offer any rain protection, or durability, so I went looking on the internet and I found two brands that I liked, and later went with a company that has provided products for Jeeps for a long time, Best Top. I had purchased a new top for a 1993 Jeep Wrangler I had a long time ago, and was very satisfied with the product, so I decided to purchase the seat covers they offer for the 03-06 Jeep Wrangler. Let me say after owning and using them for well over two years now, I am very happy with my decision.

Pro's

The one thing I like about these covers, they offer some rain protection during sudden showers when you have the top down. The reason being, Best Top makes these covers from the same material as they make their Jeep soft tops from, a black diamond material, which offers water protection. So when you go out with your sweet heart to eat at the local drive in, have the top down, and your eating a hamburger inside, and a rain shower pops up, later you can just wipe the seat off and not worry about a wet bottom. Another pro, and with some upkeep along the way, they are durable. I work in the dirt and mud, and at the end of the work day, I like how I can just jump right in my Jeep, and not worry about staining the cloth seat upholstery, and the covers are somewhat easy to clean. Another thing I love about these covers, they fit tight to my Jeeps front seats, which is a huge plus in my opinion, and when installed, looks almost like they are the factory seat upholstery.

Con's

One little con I have with these covers is the redesign that Best Top chose to do with the 03-06 seat redesign. On the 03-06 covers, Best Top uses a neoprene material for the sides of the seat covers. On the early TJ seats, 97-02, the seat back was the round design, and the covers that Best Top offers for the early TJ seats is all black diamond material, therefore making it really water proof. When Jeep redesigned the Wranglers interior in 03, Best top made the newer covers with the neoprene material on the sides of the seat, therefore not making it as water proof as the early TJ covers they offer. Also if one doesn't keep any sort of sun protectant on the neoprene, I've found that they will begin to fade, turning from black to a purple color. I've worked really hard to keep some kind of protection on the sides, and even still they have still kind of faded. Lastly, one thing I don't like about these covers, and this is nothing that can be helped, because they are black, they collect a lot of heat. So on a hot summer day, before you sit down in your Jeep, be aware that you could possibly get burned a little.

These covers have been an awesome investment for my Jeep. They have allowed me to live care free and be able to just use my Jeep the way a Jeep was originally intended to be used in the early days. For $150 plus shipping, in the end, I am glad I purchased these covers. Hopefully with just simple upkeep, these covers will provide many years of service, and help me to enjoy my Jeep for years to come. Be advised there are many options available, and this option may or may not be for you.

  1. Wow ...Wonderful seat covers. Really i love them. Because it looks nice & fresh now. They almost perfect fit. The seat cover is made to a generic size with the only differences being in how the cover fits over headrests or whether it is safe for seats fitted with side impact airbags. I know one company sparepencil.com which is providing seat cover and I think at there you find all information about this.
